here is a mail I just sent to a tv show, Topic A. They have a segment where the guests pick an important book/movie/show/whatever. This is mine!
Little Drummer Girl by John LeCarre
his most recent, Absolute Friends, is also about terrorism, but is too obvious an anti-Bush screed (NOT an anti-American screed!) to go down easy or at all with most people. In twenty years fer sure, but not now.
So given that, Little Drummer Girl is my pick -- an amazing, beautiful, poetic warriors song, showing how terrorists get to be terrorists, and how their pursuers become terrorists.
To paraphrase Walt Kelley:
