political tv
lately I've been wired into the TV political shows with as much commitment as I give to college hoops in March. I've got my Lehrer News, Crossfire(my only guilty pleasure of the bunch) and of course my beloved Daily Show every day, and on weekends I do my darndest to see McLaughlin Report, Washington Week, Inside Washington, Meet The Press, Topic A, and any show with Pres Clinton, Al Franken, or John Stewart on it. I think I'm engaged in this election.
Of these, the first three weekend shows give me the most consistently good information. Tim Russert is a worthless media ho, but he gets good guests. Overall, the national press is more and more a bunch of media ho's rather than actual, real reporters, and I think it sucks. The whole press corps laid down and bent over for the Bushies in the build-up to the Iraq War and they ought to be ashamed of themselves
