new reno 411
I have posted pix of my new place here. Of particular note are my excellent 70's flagstone fireplace and the spaciousness of the master bedroom, living room, and deck (sadly unpictured). It's hard to really see what the rooms look like because the current tenants have the belongings of a much bigger house crammed in there, but when I move in with my pitiful collection of college dorm furniture there will be space to burn!
I'm already starting to think about tearing out walls, putting in hardwood floors, designer wallpaper, kitchen rehab, all that good stuff. I also want to figure out how to get on the roof to watch killer sunsets over the mountains!
Here's the location on a Yahoo map.
More orientation:
This picture was taken from right about here. That big white house in the background is on Court Street (old Reno's most elegant!) behind my little park. The next three pix were taken a little further west of the red star in the map, along Riverside Drive.
And finally, a satellite photo from the my beloved Wunderground site, taken on November 5. The path of I-80 from Truckee through Reno is in yellow, Reno and my place are in red. That's Lake Tahoe below the yellow line, and little old Washoe Lake below Reno (and right above Carson City). The big lake in the upper middle is Pyramid Lake, familiar to anyone who's driven to Burningman . I'm always amazed at how much blue shows up in these photos of Nevada.
