Writing this on my twelfth day here, and my second sunny day in a row! It turns out that this was a very atypical time to move here. I've complained about it at length elsewhere, but in this context, I am kind of diggin it. The Reno Hilton is about a mile and a half away and the only thing on the skyline in that direction, and I didn't even see it until yesterday! In fact, I drove to the Reno Hilton twice last weekend, and afther the evening freezing fog set in, I couldn't see past the fourth floor from the parking lot!

It's like I got to know this place inside this hazy bubble, and alluva sudden someone ripped the curtan back and I'm in this lovely spacious valley with snowy peaks in every diirection. I think the snowy peaks to the east and north are just piles of volcanic slag eleven months of the year, but they sure are pretty right now!
